Not seeing Chinese characters? Read below
Windows XP has the ability to read Asian fonts and to input Asian characters, but your system must have
the optional East Asian language support enabled.
The BBC's Chinese
site is a suitable page to test your system settings. If you couldn't see Chinese characters there, you need
to enable the Chinese-Japanese-Korean (CJK) language set.
To Enable CJK Language Support:
1. Click on the Start button.
2. Click on Control Panel.
3. Click on "Date, Time, Language and Regional Options."
4. Select the "Add other languages" task.
5. Check the "Install files for East Asian languages" option and click on the Apply button.
